If you have purchased an item to send to your Canada address and used ShipByMail’s package forwarding services, we have the lowdown for what you need to know when managing your returns.

Returns through ShipByMail are easiest if they haven’t yet left our warehouse to be forwarded your way. With our handy photography service, we can send you images to help you ensure that the item we’ve received is exactly the product you want, in the condition you want.

But once the item has been forwarded on to you from your virtual mail address in Canada and is in your possession, it is more cost effective for you to return the item to the retailer directly. After all, it would cost you the same amount to send the item to the retailer as it would to send it to ShipByMail; whatever postal service you use will likely charge you the same amount to send the item to any Canadian destination. If for some reason it is less expensive for you to send it to us on the Canadian west coast than directly to the retailer, please contact us to see how we can save you some money.

In the event you want to return an item before it leaves the ShipByMail warehouse, we have two ways that we can help. If your item was shipped with a Canadian mailing ‘free returns’ label, it is a simple fix for us to simply return it to the retailer using their label, rather than forwarding the package. The service fee for returns is $35. Clients without a ‘free returns’ mailing label will also need to pay the domestic shipping rate in addition to the returns fee.
